I'm usually a little bit quiet when I first meet someone. I have a hard time feeling comfortable and opening up.

I love hanging out with friends and family...and include my pets in my family! I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've reached what I think is sort of an unusual realization. I am incredibly happy with my life just as it is. Finally. It's taken nearly 33 years, but I've got the big issues sorted out. I have finally gotten around to filling tis profile out. I am a single man living in he Minneapolis/St Paul area.I would consider my self vary eclectic with a wide area of interests. I'm having a tough time trying to find adjectives to describe myself. So, I am just going things I enjoy:

~ Movies - good ones and ones that are so awful they're good
~ Hockey - playing and watching. If I ever have enough money Wild season tickets come first
~ Baseball - playing and watching. Outdoor baseball in Minnesota is going to be amazing.
~ Bonfires - I just like them. The serenity or whatever you want to call it.
~ Trying new foods - Fogo De Chao, have you been?
~ Awkward situations - I like faux pas and catching someone off guard with something not so politically correct
~ Shopping - I like going to Target and looking at toiletries. I'm not gay. Clothes, electronics, shiny stuff.
~ Playing Cards/Casinos - Dislike slots, but love playing any card game.
~ Acme Comedy Club - I love stand up comedy, but please god, no Larry, Jeff Dunham, Carlos Mencia, or Dane Cook. I saw Mitch Hedberg's last show (at the Orpheum).
~ Tv Shows - I don't watch a ton of television, but I am very attached to the following television shows: Dexter, Californication, Weeds, Family Guy. Avid Minnesota sports fan.
~ Dive Bars, Piano Music, Maynards - I'm not a club person. If you can't hear the person 2 feet from you, its probably not a place for me. They're probably sweaty too. I like Tom Reid's, Maynards, Champs, and any Old Chicago as far as more known places go.... The Bonfire is awesome for piano music.
~ I am very career oriented, and find myself working too much. I work in a very needy and time consuming field.
~ Politics - I hate politics. Family is very very political. I tend to agree with the message they try to send, but they take it so far I usually end up wanting the other side to win just so they stop talking. I'm really right down the middle, but if I'd have to say I'd lean one way or another, it'd be liberal.

I love science and stupid comedies. I live to make it seem like I know everything, which is mostly true. I may also challenge any opinion, position, or belief you have that I don't understand.

I don't sleep at night.

My brain does not really have a working filter, and I will say and do dumb, inappropriate, and embarrassing things. I am satisfied with this most of the time. I never know when to take myself seriously or when I'm being too frivolous.

I think beards are sexy, and so should you.

I want to go on an adventure. Out of the city, out of the state, out of the country, or off the planet. I'm not picky. I just don't want to go alone.

I don't want you to think this is a big deal, but I'm an atheist. I'm not going to be in your face about it, but you should be aware.

Other people keep me sane. I can't go more than a few days without some kind of social contact.

I often feel like I'm living in the wrong time. Victorian England, Ancient Rome, the west in the late 19th century, the post-singularity future, and the late 60's all have attractive qualities to me.

I like cooking- I'm no gourmet, but I appreciate a simple meal made of good fresh ingredients. I like to troll farmers markets and co-ops for new goodies.

I've been lucky enough to have done some traveling- Japan, Mexico, Canada, France, Morocco, Turkey, Greece, New Zealand, Germany are the countries I've hit so far. Travel is the most humbling thing I know, so I try to do it often. Just to keep a little perspective on how my small life fits into the big big world. I'd love to go to South America sometime in the next few years, but I haven't learned much Spanish or Portuguese yet.

Local travel is fun too- I'm a sucker for road trips, planned or spontaneous. But be warned: I will sing along with the radio the whole way, whether I know the words or not. The destination is usually not too important, it's just the catalyst to hit the road and see what we see. I have seen the world's largest ball of twine made by one man. I have made the acquaintance of Paul Bunyon, his ox, his girlfriend, and their illegitimate son. I have seen the "center of the world" in about ten different places (it gets around, apparently). Next on my list would be The World's Largest Collection of World's Smallest Versions of World's Largest Things.

I have a high tolerance for irony, but a low tolerance for whimsy. I like people who can see the humor in serious situations, and the underlying truth in humor. A snarky sense of humor and a genuine smile go a long way.

I am a fun loving woman who loves trying new things. I have many passions which include working with children, photography and music. All play a big part in my life. I am currently going to school for teaching and can't wait to become a teacher. I love to travel and am hoping to do more of that. I just recently went to Egypt and it was amazing. I would love to find someone who shares the same interests and passions as I do. Whether it is traveling, photography or music doesn't matter. Not a must but I would like to find someone to share them with. I am also more than willing to try new things I like to go to new places and try new food. I also have a cabin up north and would go there over a lot of places if I could. It is on a beautiful lake wtih crystal clear waters. Also it is near the boundry waters and it is just georgous up there.

I also believe the more you travel and are exposed to other cultures the more humble you become. I just recently traveled to Egypt and learned so much. I would love to travel more and expose myself to other cultures and bring that back and teach others about those cultures or bring them into the classroom that I hope to teach one day.

My life is full of unanswered questions. I would begin with smart but that wouldn't be fair. I could start with the inability to spell or complete correct grammatical paragraphs. So instead I will begin by saying hello. The most ingenious word ever created. I could also tell you about my addicting coffee or work ethics but that would probably bore you as well. I will be attending Korea University in Seoul this August for a year for language and culture/history classes.

Other than my liking for all things Korean, I also love superheros. I have about 20 t-shirts of Marvel characters that I wear everyday to school and stuff. I'd like to think of myself as a cheerful and inquisitive kind of girl who's willing to try something at least once. Reading a good story or taking a brisk walk with my dog are great ways to de-stress (though a good veg-out session in front of the TV never hurts). Speaking of my dog, I have a black lab/border collie named Ellie with whom I love spending time with.

Going camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities are my preferred weekend adventures, but one day I hope to end up on an Alaskan cruise. I love downhill skiing but usually you'll find me flying down a hill waving my arms to slow down; cross country is a little easier on my nerves (and the view is so much better). Crowds really freak me out, so normally I tend to choose activities with less people, or in open spaces.

I'm painfully shy and I think that makes me seem stand-offish when I first meet someone, but with a bit of friendly conversation I'd like to think I seem more open. I may laugh at a situation or something that's been done, but I will never laugh at a person or their opinions.

Hey everyone! I am very new to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and trying to meet some people, so a friend suggested I check this place out. I've never tried this before, but I decided it sounds like fun, so here I am. I'm 27 years old, and people never believe me when I say that, they usually guess 21-22. Here's a little about me. I'm an elementary school teacher. I love working with kids. They make each day fly by for good and for bad. I'd like to become a principal one day as soon as I feel like I've mastered teaching. Things change daily which keeps it fascinating. I am a great son, brother, and friend. Friends count on me to listen in a time of stress and to laugh with them (or at them, depending on which is appropriate) during good times. I can find humor in just about anything. You name it and in most cases I wouldn't mind learning about it. I'm also a bit of a news junkie. I've never met a Sunday paper I didn't like. I can definitely spend a few hours with the paper. My sense of humor would definitely lean towards the goofy side. I'd like to travel the world. I really believe a good time is not a specific place it's all about the people your with. Here's what my significant other can count on from me. I will always be eternally optimistic, a good sounding board, a motivator, to believe in you, to give you a kick in the pants (if needed) and dance like nobody's watchin. I'm into the innocent type with a wild side. I'm looking for someone who enjoys being outside and will enjoy staying active(running, rollerblading, shooting hoops, hiking) for life. I'm also looking for someone with a good heart. This is the only trait I really think is non-negotiable. I'm looking for someone who I can talk to all night and never really become bored. She will also appreciate the little things in life that too often go un-noticed. I am employed. I'm no sugar daddy, but I'm debt free and pay my bills on time. I have nice teeth (the dentist tells me so once a year). I'm a bit of a home body and like the quiet. I'm working on being more fit. I started a home work out program called P90X (no more Mr. Bean pole for me)! I like to bike ride. I love movies. Because of where I work, I get to meet people from other countries on a fairly regular basis. (I work in a large company's headquarters.) I feel blessed by these opportunities to experience people from other cultures. The flipside is that I think Americans are kind of annoying.

I exercise 5 days per week. Cardio & weight lifting.

Hello out there!

My personal goal is to find a way to appear to be cultured, but not pretentious. Sophisticated in a way that is subdued, but approachable? I'm not sure how to put it into words.

Working full time at a technology company as test engineer (I make hardware and software break!) and enjoy it very much. In the off time I try to mix it up; seeing live music, playing in a pickup league of kickball, reading various genres of books. I listen to a wide variety of music, alternative, metal, hip hop, garage punk and few other sub categories. I also enjoy social psychology and political discussions.

I'm in decent physical shape and exercise at a gym regularly. I drink alcohol socially, don't smoke, and don't have any kids. I've never been married. I don't have pets right now because I tend to travel a bit for work, and I wouldn't want to leave them alone!

I'm looking an affectionate woman who can laugh and tell a joke or two, appreciates literary works, a sense of humor, and the guts to show it! Someone who I can be friends with first, who has some overlapping interests with mine.

On a side note, I realize that my profile kind of totally really sucks. I'm not sure the iexact/i reasons why, but it's a hunch I have. Maybe it's too direct?
